| What is Web 2.0? |
|
The media is currently buzzing about the next stage of evolution set to transform the World Wide Web, introducing ... Web 2.0. Will this development, however, truly transform our online experience? The momentum for the term Web 2.0 rode on the back of the Blog explosion and in essence represents a Web of the future that is a much richer interactive and social experience. Adopting Ajax techniques (already integral to Vista) that facilitate a quicker browsing environment, do not require page refresh and interact on a level similar to desktop programmes are cornerstones for Web 2.0. The easy mass sharing of data (pod casts, video etc.) will also, we are told, be managed more efficiently in this new age. The Blog boom has allowed for the easy creation of pages, sharing of content and raised the bar in terms of user interaction thus empowering a huge social networking platform. RSS feeds are used to filter and direct multi-source information to desktops saving repetitive browsing tasks and streamlining online performance. Web 2.0 is here, and the door to this bright new world is only ajar. The way we work and play using the web has an exciting future only limited to our own imagination. If you have any questions then please contact us and we will be more than happy to help! |
